This Thursday the Bicentennial of the Battle of Bomboná was held in the National Pantheon of Caracas from the Mausoleum of the Liberator, in Caracas.
From these spaces, the Minister of Defense, Vladimir Padrino López, highlighted the historical importance of this act.
“This is an act that we remember because it had an effect on what is today the heart of Colombia, we are in full experience of the Bicentennial Cycle and we are smelling the same gunpowder in those immortal fields,” he said.
He stressed, “we must remember the military events but also the political ones. Those victories were not exempt from sacrifices, the Battle of Bomboná involved many risks and decision-making by Bolívar, today we pay tribute to that strategist.
He urged this Thursday to see as “an opportunity” for Venezuela, the configuration of a new world economic order, caused by the situation between Russia and Ukraine.
“The tectonic plates are moving and the configuration of a new economic and world order appears that should mean an opportunity for Venezuela,” said Padrino López during the commemoration of the Bicentennial of the Battle of Bomboná.
“It is not that we are contemplating what is happening in the world. We have the responsibility as a people, as a historical project that, in these circumstances, we guarantee national peace, national scientific development, always in the scheme of our revolutionary principles, “added the also Minister for Defense from the National Pantheon, in Caracas .
During the day, he highlighted the strategy of the Liberator, Simón Bolívar, in the battle he undertook against the Spanish yoke.
“200 years ago it is time, Bolívar decided to launch the attack against the Spanish army assisted by his instinct and his experience in the Battle of Bomboná,” he stressed.
Battle of Bomboná Forum
Earlier, from the theater of the Bolivarian Military University of Venezuela, located in Fort Tiuna, Caracas, the sectoral vice president of Political Sovereignty, Security and Peace, G/J Vladímir Padrino López, began the Bicentennial Anniversary Forum of the Battle of Bomboná .
In his presentation, the also Minister of People’s Power for Defense, mentioned that this forum is held as a sample of the history, knowledge, experiences and anecdotes raised during the Battle of Bomboná by the Generals of the Bolivarian National Armed Forces.
Likewise, he stressed that “the Battle of Bomboná, as well as all our historical struggles, show us that united we add more. The victories of the past are, today, the seed of the present».
The Minister of People’s Power for Culture also participated in the tribute.
