He specified that they are not asking for a rate increase, but rather that the rate be at least equal to that of other latitudes in the country.

Since this Thursday, a group of selective carriers from Colón have taken to the streets to protest to demand that the authorities review the fare for users, mainly at this time when the price of fuel has been increasing.

Rolando Ábrego, transportation leader, explained that they have not reviewed the rate for more than 15 years. “Law 14 establishes that every five years we need a rate review, given the situation day by day, the economic situation in the country is changing,” he added.

He specified that they are not asking for a rate increase, but rather that the rate be at least equal to that of other latitudes in the country.

“We do not want a subsidy, because no situation will be resolved for us tomorrow. We want tools to offer the service in harmony with the situation we are experiencing,” Ábrego said.
