Foreign Minister Félix Plasencia warned that the decision taken at the UN against Russia represents a threat to the world
After learning of Russia’s suspension of the UN Human Rights Council, a situation that was discussed in the body’s General Assembly on Thursday, April 7, Juan Guaidó, recognized by part of the international community as president in charge of Venezuela, and the former governor of the state of Miranda, Henrique Capriles, reacted on their social networks on the subject.
Guaido considers that Russia’s suspension from the UN Human Rights Council was a “concrete but late” action, a decision that was taken after the invasion of Russian troops in Ukraine and said that, although “this is not the time to be rapporteurs of the tragedy”, there are plenty of reasons for Moscow not to belong to the aforementioned Council.
In his opinion, multilateral organizations – such as the United Nations – “must take action.”
In this sense, he could not avoid comparing the Ukrainian situation with that in our country, where he insisted that the administration of Nicolás Maduro occupies a seat on the Human Rights Council when it has been singled out for allegedly committing crimes against humanity.
There are plenty of reasons why Russia should not even be on the UN Security Council.

For its part, Capriles assured that “democratic Venezuela” does not agree with the events that occur as in Ukraine, emphasizing that “there will never be support from the majority people for those who destroyed Ukraine” as did, in his opinion, “the allies” of Vladimir Putin, whom he described as the “Hitler of our times”.
“Let the free world speak in favor of the peoples affected by the decisions of the sick in power,” he said.
Meanwhile, the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Félix Plasencia, rejected the decision of the UN General Assembly to suspend Russia from the Human Rights Council and reiterated the “commitment” of the Executive with the “founding principles and the mandate of the Founding Charter” of the organism.
He condemned the application of the resolution because “it collapses bridges necessary for understanding and seriously threatens security, order and global peace” and believes that it is an “attack on multilateralism.”

With 93 votes in favor, 24 votes against and 58 abstentions, the UN General Assembly He approved suspending Russia from the Human Rights Council of the world body, days after the massacre in the town of Bucha, near kyiv, was reported.
This initiative was proposed by the permanent US ambassador to the UN, Linda Thomas-Greenfield, who the day before asked Russia to leave the Human Rights instance after the complaints, testimonies and publication of images of the corpses found in the streets of Bucha , allegedly massacred by Russian troops.
The votes of countries such as Venezuela, Armenia, Azerbaijan, Benin, Burkina Faso, Djibouti, Equatorial Guinea, Lebanon, Mauritania, Morocco, Rwanda, Solomon Islands, Somalia and Zambia were not counted.
