A Second Lieutenant of the National Police (PN) is investigated through the Accusatory Penal System (SPA) for the alleged trafficking of ammunition.

According to the PN, the unit was removed from its position and placed under the orders of the competent authorities, in addition to facing administrative sanctions within the entity.

The deputy director of the National Directorate of Judicial Investigation, Irving Castillo, said that this policeman sold the ammunition to a group and was detected in this irregularity in December 2021.

Faced with rumors that this police officer had obtained the ammunition through the Pacifying My Neighborhood program, where weapons and ammunition are exchanged for vouchers redeemable for food, Castillo clarified that this is not the case, since the unit did not work in this program.

“This has nothing to do with the Pacifying My Neighborhood program, it was an event that occurred in December 2021,” he said, highlighting that this event was discovered through an internal purging process.
