At an event for the launch of Banco do Brasil credit instruments, the minister declared that the withdrawal of the water scarcity flag considered the levels of the reservoirs and was not decided on the basis of “pens”.

“The electricity bill drops 18% next month, without a penny, without putting companies at risk, on the contrary”, declared the minister. According to him, the health of companies in the electricity sector has recovered, while previous governments harmed the sector with interventionist policies.

Yesterday (6) night, President Jair Bolsonaro announced the end of tariff flags on electricity bills. Through social media, the president informed that the recovery of the hydroelectric plant reservoirs will make the government grant the green flag to all energy consumers as of April 16. He predicted a reduction of about 20% in tariffs.

According to the minister, Brazil is consolidating itself as a country with an important role in ensuring food and energy security on a global scale.

“This war [entre Rússia e Ucrânia] it only complicates things, but the great truth is that Brazil is being perceived as a great agent, with a decisive role, in food security and energy security”, commented Guedes.
