A Nicaraguan identified as Leónidas Centeno dies in Costa Rica

Costa Rican media have reported that the body of the 53-year-old citizen was found lying on the bed in his room by one of his children, who had not visited him for more than a week.

For its part, the Costa Rican Police —according to the Extra de Costa Rica newspaper— detailed that the death is presumably due to natural causes, but that they have to wait until the autopsy results are obtained.

Centeno worked as an informal taxi driver or Uber, as he is known in the neighboring country to the south. He was driving a white Kia Picanto vehicle, 2011, registered in the name of a limited liability company.

One of his relatives named Martín Loría told the media that «he (Leónidas Centeno) had children but lived alone; we had four days of not seeing him. He spoke to everyone, he was a good grade (person) », he expressed.

Another friend of Centeno, identified as Mauricio Ávalos, said —according to the newspaper Extra— that the Nicaraguan was “a very polite, calm person and I don’t think he has had problems with anyone; he came continuously and stayed talking, he also brought us water from the bus terminal».

So far, the Costa Rican police authorities have not reported the case. It is unknown since when the citizen was in the Costa Rican country and if his relatives in Nicaragua will take steps to repatriate him.
