The Superior Electoral Court (TSE) unanimously disapproved the accountability of the Republican Party of Social Order (PROS), referring to the year 2016. As a result, the court ordered the party to return R$ 11.25 million to the treasury, as well as the collection of R$ 404.15 thousand in “funds of unidentified origin” to the National Treasury.
According to the TSE, among the irregularities in the party’s accounts are the purchase of an aircraft “for a value greater than R$ 400 thousand” and of machines and materials for the assembly of a printing industry, worth “almost R$ 4 million”. . Irregularities were also pointed out in relation to real estate and travel expenses.
“In addition to the high value of irregularities, the plenary also noted the lack of application by the acronym of the minimum percentage of 5% of Party Fund resources in programs for the promotion and dissemination of women’s political participation, and determined the application of R$ 699,848, 82 in these incentive actions from the subsequent elections”, the court informed through its site.
In the assessment of the rapporteur for the matter, Minister Sérgio Banhos, the irregularities and improprieties found in the party’s accounts are “extremely serious and capable of justifying disapproval”, and it is not possible to verify the fairness, transparency, economy and zeal in the application. of public resources.
