The Colombian is a special envoy for a French media outlet to cover everything related to the war.

Colombia News.

Juan Camilo Palencia was born in Cali, Colombia 30 years ago. At the age of 10, he left for Europe bound for France to pursue his dream: to be a writer.

In search of this desire, the young Colombian trained as a journalist at one of the most prestigious universities in the Gallic country in this field: IJBA.

After five years of study, Juan Camilo found a job at the BFMTV agency, a medium that sent him in February to cover everything related to the conflict between Russia and Ukraine after the Russian invasion of Ukrainian territory.

There, he has had to live closely and tell many stories about this war that began on February 23 and it is not yet known when it will end.

Despite the risk that being in a zone of bombings and other war attacks by the Government of Vladimir Putin represents, Juan Camilo does not see the option of retiring from his job, which he works tirelessly every day: the street.

Although he respects the decision of those colleagues who have left the field to safeguard their lives.

“The Dance of Hope”

In the midst of his work as a social communicator, Juan Camilo, as the good man from Cali, enjoyed a moment next to a young Ukrainian woman, images that have gone viral on networks.

The compatriot moved to the rhythm of salsa together with Svetlana, an excellent dancer of this genre as he himself cataloged her in a post uploaded to his Twitter account, with a title written in perfect French, a language he learned very quickly.

The recording that lasts only 28 seconds was recorded in the city of Bucha. In that town, Svetlana and Timoteo had been sheltering in a bunker for nearly 30 days waiting for the attacks to stop.

This video has been highly commented on the social platform and many describe it as a respite and a moment of relaxation in the midst of difficulties.

In dialogue with the Blu Radio station, Juan Camilo told how that magical moment was:

«She (Svetlana) tells me ‘ah, Colombia, salsa salsa’ and in broken English I say, ‘do you want to dance?’ and we start dancing in the middle of the street with all the broken glass everywhere because they had bombed nearby, the house was near a barracks that the Russians had taken. It was a magical moment for her and me. I am very bad at dancing, she danced very well, she followed the step and in the middle of all that I looked into her eyes and the lady was crying, dancing, it was a scene full of emotion and hope, “said the Colombian cameraman.

Juan Camilo will continue to record with his lens the conflict between Russia and Ukraine, which he hopes will end soon for the good of humanity.
