The Departmental Court of Justice (TDJ) of La Paz admitted in the last hours two appeals against President Luis Arce, and the president of the Chamber of Senators, Andrónico Rodríguez, presented by Mujeres Creando, for allegedly neglecting the request for clarification of femicides and rapists, who were released in a “corrupt” way.

“The Departmental Court of Justice of La Paz admitted two appeals that Mujeres Creando presented against the President of the State, Luis Arce, and the President of the Senate, Andrónico Rodríguez, for not responding to the letters left on March 7, in which we asked immediate response to an attached list of cases of femicides and rapists benefited by corrupt judges and prosecutors, ”says a statement by the activists.

They complement that both hearings will be face-to-face and were set for this April 5 at 12:30, the process against Luis Arce, and for 2:30 p.m., against Rodríguez. In the statement they add that “if there is impunity, there is complicity.”

The complaint was filed on Friday, April 1, before the TDJ of La Paz by María Galindo, Heidy Gil and Paola Gutiérrez, from Mujeres Creando. Then they recalled that on March 7 the group sent a letter to Arce and another to Rodríguez with a list of “more than 84 cases of femicides with sentences (and that were) released in a corrupt and irregular manner.”
