This post perplexed his more than 1.5 million followers on said social network, who do not agree that their idol is retiring so soon: “He still has a lot of football to give …”, some say. Although the idea of ​​’Don Teo’ is not unreasonable since the Atlantic footballer is 36 years old, a ripe age to play this sport but with diminished physical conditions.

In the image he appears together with his son Cristiano Manuel, who plays soccer in minor divisions.

Apparently, Teo intends for his son to continue his sports legacy.

It is noteworthy that the striker has gone through great clubs such as Junior from Barranquilla, Trabzonspor, Cruz Azul from Mexico, Sporting de Lisboa, Lanús, Rosario Central, Racing and River Plate from Argentina.

The soccer player born in the La Chinita neighborhood has scored 227 goals in his sports career in 622. Also in that number of games played, he has given 76 goal assists.

He is considered one of the idols of Junior de Barranquilla, a club with which he won leagues and cups in Colombia.

With the National Team, he has scored 19 goals in 56 games. Visiting the national colors he has one goal assist in that total of games.

Teófilo played the 2014 World Cup in Brazil in which he also scored a goal against Greece and won the title of “Best Player in the Americas”, an award given by the newspaper El Páis de Montevideo.
