Mennonites used spray to make women sleep and then raped them

The Belice and Piedras Dos Mennonite colonies, located in front of Tres Cruces, were the scene of sexual abuse of women, that they were first reduced and numbed with the spray effect, which was sprayed by the aggressors of those same colonies.

History seems to repeat itself to the records of more than five years ago when in the Manitoba neighborhood, the Police and the Prosecutor’s Office prosecuted an event that surprised with reports of rape of some 150 women by a Mennonite who is serving a sentence in the Palmasola prison.

The fact reported by the victims mobilized police officers from the Special Force to Fight Violence (Felcv), who managed to capture three Mennonites, two adults and a 17-year-old teenager.

The departmental prosecutor, Róger Mariaca, came to the neighborhood Belize and Pailon where she received information about the multiple rapes of women of all ages, from 16 years old to adults.

Róger Mariaca reported that initially there are reports of 12 women who were victims, but it is possible that the outrage reaches more than 40 by the Mennonites provided with a chemical spray to enter the houses.

Drunk and sprayed

According to the first investigations by the Felcv and the Prosecutor’s Office, the statements of those arrested reveal information that concerned the authorities.

The detainees themselves admitted the fact by pointing out that They entered the houses organized. First, they consumed alcoholic beverages and in a drunken state they walked to their homes, especially at night. Each participant had in their possession their spray can to enter the houses, spray the women they encountered and proceed to rape them when they fell asleep due to the effect of the chemical.

The teenager in his statements he confessed that one of the elders manufactured the spray. The aerosol also had components such as anesthetic fragments to put animals to sleep and therefore had an immediate effect on the victims.

The teenager also revealed that they also took prescription drugs to generate sexual desires and appetites.
“We organized ourselves to go to the houses, each one had to have their own spray that was manufactured,” said the teenager.

The Prosecutor’s Office asks for jail

The prosecutor assigned to the case based in Pailón, Camilo Velásquez, has already filed charges against those arrested. He charged them with the crime of aggravated rape and asked the judge for preventive detention in the Palmasola prison.

However the teenager will be processed separately but for the same crime. His statement was received in the presence of representatives of the Ombudsman for Children and Adolescents and will be presented before a judge for children to be tried by juvenile criminal justice.

Meanwhile, police officers from the Felcv in coordination with the Prosecutor’s Office intensify investigations in search of the identification of other Mennonites who also participated in the multiple violations for a long time, but who put themselves in a safe place.

In the same way, investigations are carried out in order to identify living women from the Belice and Piedras Dos neighborhoods, who had also been victims of outrage, but who did not report them.
