Alternate deputy Walkiria Chandler, who is part of the new coalition called “Vamos”, referred this Wednesday to the creation of said movement, emphasizing that what is sought with this is the possible transformation.
“If we are more voices of people who share a vision of the country, Panama can be rescued from the misery in which it is submerged, from inequality and from all this that has been affecting all Panamanians,” he remarked.
He said that there are some other groups running today, “badly called independent, which in the end just want to use platforms and stick to an independent person to continue being the same people with the same ideals as always, doing the same politics as always, that is not good for the country. We are not going to lend ourselves to that game, so that leaders of political parties come to try to wash their faces with this coalition”.
He explained that every applicant who enters the ranks of “Vamos” must be a person who has resigned from a political party. “We don’t want anyone who is going to put the interests of a party above the collective, above the country, which is what has traditionally happened. We want true independence, not only from political parties, but also from economic, cultural ties. , religious, people who understand that people come here to serve and not serve themselves,” he added.
Regarding the financing of this coalition, Chandler stressed that it is working with the solid base of volunteering.
“We understand that political campaigns entail certain expenses, for which we have transparent fundraising processes and donation caps to leave no doubt about our independence. We are only going to accept a maximum cap from a single natural or legal person, to the movement or from an applicant, a maximum of $10,000,” he said.
