This Tuesday morning, assistants and laboratory assistants protested at the Arnulfo Arias Madrid hospital complex of the Social Security Fund (CSS), on the Transístmica road.
The action occurred on the second day of strike maintained by these officials demanding a salary adjustment.
Oriel Moreno, spokesman for these laboratory assistants, said that they remain “firm” in their claims. He added that they expect a “strong proposal” from the Social Security authorities.
Moreno said that, in his opinion, there has been no “will” of the CSS to address this issue, since otherwise they would not be protesting.
“We want to be in our jobs to be providing the service to the insured,” said the leader, while he apologized to the population for having had to make the decision to go on strike.
Meanwhile, the national executive director of Health Services and Benefits of the CSS, Alex González, said that the institution is looking for all the mechanisms to comply with the agreement that had been agreed with that union in previous administrations.
“We understand that each union has and makes its decisions, but we call for them to give up this idea that affects patients, since we are going to comply with the agreement,” he assured.
