So far this six-year term, the Secretariat of Agrarian, Territorial and Urban Development (Sedatu) has allocated almost 9,000 million pesos for the reconstruction program for the earthquakes of 2017 and 2018, so it is expected that this year complete care for those affected.
As part of a working meeting with the federal deputies who are members of the United Housing Commissions and of Constitutional Points, the undersecretary of Territorial Planning, the architect David Ricardo Cervantes Pereda, announced that as part of the reconstruction program by the earthquakes of 2017 and 2018, said Secretariat has delivered more than 58,000 supports for housing to those affected, through almost 9,000 million pesos.
Undersecretary Cervantes Pereda indicated that these resources have been spread throughout the eight affected entities, in 225 municipalities.
In the meeting that is part of the analysis of the reform to Article 4o. of the Constitution, in terms of adequate housing, indicated that at least 41,000 of these supports have been delivered, mostly to families who suffered the total loss of their homes. While resources have also been granted for cases with partial damage and cases of heritage housing, that is, housing that has cultural or community value.
The federal official stressed that Oaxaca is the entity where the most resources have been allocated, with at least 17,000 million pesos spent and more than 19,000 actions.
Due to the above, Pereda pointed out that this dependency is waiting to make a general balance to determine if this year it concludes with the attention to the people and families that were affected by the earthquakes.

For his part, Román Meyer Falcón, head of the Sedatu, announced that to date there is a deficit of 8.5 million homes that have some lag, the vast majority, located in the center and south of the country, which present between their main needs, the general improvement of the home and the need for an extension.
Likewise, he expressed that today 61% of the dwelling has a payment problem, while there is a significant number of abandoned dwellings, mainly in the north of the country, and the border states, because, he said, in the In the past, a need of the market was served more than that of the inhabitants.
In total, the Secretariat of Agrarian, Territorial and Urban Development counts 650,000 abandoned homes nationwide, so they seek to relocate support in the population where geographically more needs are demanded.
