During a press conference, the members of the Association of Medical Specialists of the Santo Tomás Hospital and other patronages announced that, after the President of the Republic, Laurentino Cortizo, vetoed Bill 550 on patronages, they hope that it is discussed from scratch.
This was explained by the president of the Association, Juan Wong, who said that it is necessary to develop a mechanism that allows this, since previously they were not taken into account during the debate.
“I think that, since he returned to the Assembly of Deputies, we can have a broad discussion with those who really know, with the pardon of the deputies, but the boards of trustees are the ones who know how it is managed and what is there to modify,” he said, reiterating that this project must be fully discussed.
Iran Moreno, from the staff of the National Institute of Physical Medicine, said that his biggest concern is that this new project will change the way they have been working for 19 years.
It is expected that on Thursday, the discussion of this bill will resume.
