The constituent of the Christian Democracy (DC), Fuad Chahin, accused the existence of a link between some conventional and the people responsible for taking over a property that belonged to his family in the commune of Curacautín, region of La Araucanía.
The seizure of the property would have been carried out by members of the Radalko-Pidenco lof, who complained about an eventual excessive use of water in the Tohualca Hot Springs. The land was peacefully evicted.
Faced with these facts, the Falangist in conversation with Cooperative Radio he expressed that “this is no accident”, adding that “there are links between those groups with some constituents, I have no doubt”.
“In addition, my statements have been a way of threatening us, which they have invented to try to give a kind of story to this, water rights that some of them have relatives who are very distant from me, other half-siblings with whom we have these differences (…) Chahin added.
In turn, he maintained that “people know who they are, I don’t want to generate more controversy today. It’s no coincidence, they invent a geothermal plant, I don’t even have an idea who these companies are or what projects they are about.”
Likewise, he stated that the claim for the excessive use of water “is a justification for acts of violence that have no basis in reality.”
