The Antecedent Employment Indicator (Iaemp), measured by the Getulio Vargas Foundation (FGV), was practically stable from February to March, with a negative variation of 0.1 point. With the result, Iaemp reached 75 points, the lowest level since August 2020, which recorded 74.8 points.
The indicator has been falling for four consecutive months, according to FGV.
Iaemp seeks to anticipate trends in the labor market, based on interviews with consumers and entrepreneurs in the industry and services.
Of the seven components of the Iaemp, four showed a decline. The main negative highlights were the industry business trend over the next six months and future local consumer employment.
The current situation of the services business contributed favorably with 1 point.
