Carrier strike: Via Los Libertadores in Ayacucho remains blocked (VIDEO)

Despite the fact that the Government reached an agreement with the heavy cargo carriers to lift the indefinite strike for five days, a group of carriers blocked the Los Libertadores road in the Ayacucho region this Sunday.

According to Canal N, the blocked sections are located in the town center of Rancha, located half an hour from the city of Ayacucho, as well as at the Socos toll. In both zones there are pickets of carriers that prevent the passage of vehicles to Lima.

Those people who try to pass the protesters suffer damage to their vehicles. According to the aforementioned media, their tires are punctured and even the police patrol cars themselves are respecting the demonstration that continues to advance towards the city of Ayacucho.

On Twitter, it was spread that in the community of Muquiyauyo, on the Huancayo-Jauja route, there is no truce either, as farmers have blocked the road.

THEY REACHED AGREEMENTS

Earlier, the Minister of Transportation and Communications, Nicolás Bustamente, gave details on the five points discussed with the heavy cargo carriers’ unions.

“In the first point, referring to the equality of conditions in the international transport service in the case of Bolivia and Ecuador, the central issue here is that Within 2 days, the PCM will establish which entity should be in charge of controlling the vehicles that enter from Bolivia and Ecuador that are exempted.

He added that, in the second point, referring to the obligatory nature of the cargo reservation and table of reference values, the Ministry of Economy and Finance (MEF) -within 10 days- will prepare a report that will be presented at a next I work with carriers.

Thirdly, the MTC is going to request that Ositran review the concession contracts for highways and tolls and not pay where the roads are in a poor state of passability. He also announced that the Superintendence of Land Transportation of People, Cargo and Goods (Sutran) will be restructured.
