The Minister of Economy and Finance, Óscar Graham, reported that starting tomorrow, Petroperú will present a reduction in its list prices for 84 and 90 octane fuels, among others, thanks to the exclusion of the selective consumption tax (ISC).
At a press conference, the head of the MEF asserted that the coordination with Petroperú has already been made so that there is a percentage reduction in fuel from this Monday.
“This reduction has to reach the final price, to consumers, that is why we have coordinated with Petroperú so that from tomorrow this reduction is already incorporated in its list prices, which means not taxing with the tax”, referred to the media.
It should be noted that this Sunday the Government decided to exempt fuels such as 84 and 90 octane gasoline from the selective consumption tax (ISC) in order to mitigate the rise in the prices of these products and other derivatives.
At another time, Graham announced that the Government will present a bill to the Congress of the Republic to temporarily exempt basic food products from the general sales tax (IGV).
“There is an additional measure that we are approving this week in the Council of Ministers, which is the temporary exemption from VAT for the main food products that are part of the products of the basic consumer basket, especially from the lower-income sectors, we are exempting from the IGV to chicken, egg, noodles, flour and meat, this will be presented to Congress for quick approval”, said.
