The leader of the Alliance for Progress, Cesar Acuna Peraltaregistered his candidacy for the internal elections of his party scheduled for May 15 this year, where he will seek the support of his militants to run for the Regional Government of Freedomin the regional and municipal elections 2022. Meanwhile, for the province of Trujillo they registered as pre-candidates the current mayors of La Esperanza and Trujillo, Martín Namay Valderrama and José Ruiz Vegarespectively.
Acuña Peralta also announced that Joana Cabrera, former candidate for Congress for APP, will be her candidate for lieutenant governor. In 2014 she unsuccessfully applied for APP to the vice presidency of the Regional Government of Ica.
“One of my commitments is to make health a priority, for which we are going to develop a top-level regional program in this sector, so as not to have problems like in the pandemic again. (…) District and provincial mayors will need to help me govern, to do all this together”, he expressed during his speech at his party premises in Trujillo.
Another of the points on the agenda, to reach the Government of Freedom, is the improvement of highways in all the provinces of this region, through the purchase of machinery to widen the roads, and thus avoid accidents in times of rain.
The president of APP indicated that in a possible management he will create two social programs: one thinking of supporting the economic reactivation of the footwear sector, for which he intends to establish the delivery of shoes from January 2023 to preschool and primary school students; and the second, he indicated, will be in favor of people with disabilities.
