Perciballe requested that retired Rear Admiral Tabaré Daners be imprisoned in the framework of an investigation into torture in the Naval Fusiliers Corps (FUSNA) of the General Command of the Navy, in the framework of the past dictatorship, according to the weekly Brecha.
The request is for “five crimes of abuse of authority against detainees” and “five crimes of deprivation of liberty”, all in degree of co-authorship.
In this sense, the criminal judge of the 23rd shift, Isaura Tórtora, must summon Daners to testify in a hearing prior to the definition of the indictment, according to the old Code of Criminal Procedure.
Data
In 2016, a witness testified in Rome -in the framework of the trial for the Condor Plan of repressive coordination of the dictatorships of the Southern Cone in the 1970s-, that the former commander of the Navy Tabaré Daners was head of the operation of arrest and kidnapping of three militants of the Unifying Action Group (GAU) that occurred in Buenos Aires in April 1977. But Daners denied the complaint.
In July 2021, the criminal judge of the 22nd shift, Nelson dos Santos, rejected a prescription request from Daners’ defense, investigated in the cause of death of the militant of the Unifying Action Groups (GAU) Ruben Martínez Addiego, who committed suicide in the Libertad prison in August 1984.
Dos Santos considered that “prima facie” it was a case of “against humanity, so there is no statute of limitations.”
