He highlighted the anti-COVID-19 vaccination strategy with its own immunogens carried out by the Antillean nation, which has made it possible for more than 60 percent of the Cuban population to have the booster dose.
The greatness of Cuba is also seen by the enormous moral quality of its people and Government that, in crisis situations, have always shown solidarity with other countries, he said.
Almazán Burgos pointed out the opportunities offered by this seventeenth inter-parliamentary meeting to speed up common needs, especially on issues of COVID-19 and the urgent economic recovery.
Both legislators recalled the stay in their country of Commander in Chief Fidel Castro and other prominent revolutionaries, who planned to overthrow the dictatorship of Fulgencio Batista (1952-1959) and were helped by Mexican friends.
They stressed that Mexico was the only country in Latin America that did not break off relations with Cuba when the revolutionary government was expelled from the Organization of American States (1962) by imperial mandate.
In addition to this Friday’s meeting, the official program of the Mexican delegation includes visits to scientific centers located in Havana, among other activities.
