A 52-year-old doctor from the Santa Fe town of San Jerónimo Norte was sentenced this Friday to six years in prison and lifelong disqualification from practicing the profession for the sexual abuse of two adolescent patients, judicial sources reported.
A court made up of judges Nicolás Falkenberg and José Luis García Troiano, and associate judge Néstor Pereyra, handed down the sentence against the doctor Miguel Angel Marchisio (52)at the end of the oral trial in which the conduct of the professional was analyzed.
The court understood that, with the evidence given during the oral debate, it was “fully demonstrated” that the acts were committed in accordance with the accusation of prosecutors Alejandro Benítez and Celeste Minniti.

In addition to the prison sentence, Marchisio was given a lifelong disqualification from practicing medicine.
According to what was stated in the trial, the sexual abuse occurred in a municipal health center where the convicted person worked as a general practitioner, in the town of San Jerónimo Norte, belonging to the Las Colonias department of this province.
The victims were two teenage patients who Marchisio sexually assaulted in October and December 2019, when they were attending high school.
The 52-year-old professional was convicted of committing the crimes of seriously outrageous sexual abuse and simple sexual abuse, the Public Ministry of the Accusation (MPA) reported on Friday.
