Six Cuban rafters were rescued by the Miami Sector Border Patrol after the boat with which they were trying to reach Florida capsized, reported this Friday Agent Walter N. Slosar. “During the search, a deceased person was found.”
The Coast Guard alerted about the accident of the boat and requested support to intensify the search, in addition to noting that the Border Patrol informed them of the arrest of six people on Thursday. “All six were transported to a local hospital with signs of dehydration and hyperthermia.”
Slosar announced on his social networks that “the search and rescue efforts are still continuing,” with what could be more rafters who left the island in a boat powered by a vehicle engine.
This Wednesday the Coast Guard confirmed the rescue of two Cubans who left the Island on March 22 on a surfboard to which they adapted a motor. “They are in good health,” the entity said on Twitter.

This rescue occurred days after the story of Elian Lopez Cabrera. This diving instructor left the Island on a windsurf board hoping to receive medical treatment, since he underwent surgery for colon cancer.
