Former Minister of Justice and Public Security Sergio Moro announced this Thursday (31) that he withdrew from running for the Presidency of the Republic in this year’s election. In a note, he informed that he accepted an invitation from the national president of União Brasil, Luciano Bivar, to join the party.
“The change of caption was communicated to the management of Podemos, whom I thank for all the support. To join the new party, I give up, at this moment, the presidential pre-candidacy and I will be a soldier of democracy to recover the dream of a better Brazil.”
Sergio Moro joined Podemos on November 10, 2021. The act took place in Brasília, in an event for about 2,000 people. Until the publication of this report, Podemos had not yet released a note about the departure.
