From this Thursday (31), visitors will be able to visit part of the attractions of Chapada dos Veadeiros National Park, in Goiás, also at night. According to the park administration, the beginning of night activities seeks to “diversify the experiences offered to visitors and contribute to the socio-environmental development of the region”.
Accompanied by an accredited driver (guide), those interested can enter the park in groups of up to six people, from 8 pm to 6 am. Initially, night visits will only take place from Thursday to Saturday, on the Saltos, Carrossel, Corredeiras and Seriema itineraries, accessible from the Visitors Center, which operates in the district of São Jorge, in Alto Paraíso de Goiás (GO), the about 260 kilometers from Brasília.
As it is not allowed to camp inside the 240,611-hectare environmental protection area, visitors are not allowed to enter with camping.
Tickets must be purchased in advance at the site from the dealership SociParques, as the ticket office on site will not work overnight. According to the company, tickets currently cost R$20 for people residing in Brazil, R$30 for visitors from Mercosur countries and R$40 for other nationalities.
Residents of some cities near the park (Alto Paraíso de Goiás, Cavalcante, Colinas do Sul, Nova Roma, São João D’Aliança and Teresina de Goiás) who previously registered for the site from SociParques pay only R$ 4. People over 60 years of age, accompanied children up to 12 years of age, groups of students on a scheduled school visit and members of extractive communities benefiting from the conservation unit can enter for free.
