After hours of statements, the Prosecutor’s Office arrested Williams Villarroel on Wednesday night for the crime of human trafficking and smuggling in the framework of the investigation of the case of Wilma Edith Fernández, who arrived from London a month ago and last week was reported missing.
According to the Public Ministry, the man, identified as the ex-partner, was one of the last people who contacted Wilma.
In a contact with the press, hours before the arrest, the defendant’s lawyer said that the sentimental relationship between the two ended on good terms, to the point that they later maintained contact through social networks.

According to the testimony of the family, on March 23, after his disappearance, through a message supposedly sent by Wilma, she said goodbye to her brother and announced her return to London.
Contrary to that fact, the family found all their documents and belongings at home.
