The general administrator of the Government Innovation Authority (AIG), Luis Oliva, revealed that together with the Executive they are analyzing the decision to eliminate the vaccination QR code for the next semester, depending on the behavior of Covid-19.
“It is something that has been discussed at the Convacunas table, together with the president and the minister in charge of health, and we are seeing how the Covid is doing; additional information on how the evolution of vaccination has gone and we could be making decisions during the next semester, but everything will depend on the behavior of the virus,” he said, stressing that this is a system that “is here to stay” and that it will be used to update the system of electronic records and prescriptions in addition to being able to integrate the platforms of the Ministry of Health and the Social Security Fund.
Oliva’s statements are given after he presented, before the Transportation Commission, his accountability for the year 2021.
Oliva also spoke about the possibility of providing satellite internet to more than 1,059 schools and surrounding communities that did not have them, free of charge for a period of two years. The program could cost close to $30 million.
This program began by bringing satellite internet to 84 schools in a first phase, then 151 schools were benefited and now they have this macro project with more than 1,059 schools that would benefit 84,000 students who do not have internet access.
Regarding the digital voucher, he said that currently 400 thousand people are receiving this benefit.
