The President of the Republic, Nicolás Maduro, led this Wednesday a farewell ceremony and decoration for the Ambassadors of Nicaragua, Yaosca Calderón and South Africa Joseph Nkosi accredited to the country.
“We are firing two ambassadors who have allowed progress in relations between Venezuela and Nicaragua and Venezuela and South Africa. We believe in a world of justice and equality and both countries believe in a multipolar world”, he said from the Miraflores Palace.
He stressed that their presence in the country was positive, “they lived through the stage where it was intended to colonize Venezuela and take it from the northern empire, they have witnessed how serenely we waged that battle for dependency,” said the head of state.
He noted that there are still pending issues between the two countries that will be developed in the high-level Joint Commission that will be held soon in Managua.
“We have built a deep and true brotherhood with both countries, so we will continue working to show the world democratic achievements,” he said.
Likewise, he announced that next week a High-Level Joint Commission will be installed in Managua where cooperation issues in food, energy, trade, and health will be worked on.
Continuation of the diplomatic struggle
The Ambassador of Nicaragua, Yaosca Calderón, assured that her country will maintain the struggle and brotherhood between our peoples, “this brotherhood is always in Nicaragua, the gratitude to Commander Chávez remains in time. That same legacy that President Maduro has been able to continue with his brave people in resisting the imperialist onslaught,” she said.
He added, “we culminated the honorable diplomatic mission maintaining the ties of national cooperation with the aim of strengthening working ties,” he said.
For his part, the South African ambassador Joseph Nkosilos explained that the ties have been strengthened with Venezuela.
“We have worked to achieve projects for the benefit of our peoples, Venezuela has helped South African investors to invest in the country and South Africa believes in the potential of Venezuela and we are committed to promoting more contacts between the two countries,” he said while advocating for the lifting of coercive and unilateral measures.
Sanctions against Venezuela
President Nicolás Maduro referred to the sanctions applied against Venezuela with the departure of the Swift System.
“We do not want to return, we are very well as we are, but Venezuela was removed for ideological and political reasons so that an economic catastrophe could be created that would lead to the overthrow of the government,” he said.
He added that the measures have prohibited the Venezuelan State from using the dollar, “an international exchange currency should not be used for political blackmail, an international currency must be reliable, where all countries can freely access it,” he said. .
