Almonte explains in Germany the energy priorities of the DR

Berlin. The Dominican Minister of Energy and Mines, Antonio Almonte, met here yesterday with officials from the German energy sector.
The meeting was for the purpose of Almonte the priorities of the Dominican Government in terms of energy policy and its interrelation with the country’s climate goals.

Likewise, he emphasized the Government’s commitment to the energy transition and the integration of renewable energies, and thanked the support of German cooperation in these areas through the German Society for International Cooperation (GIZ).

Within the framework of the Berlin Energy Transition Dialogue 2022, the delegation of the Dominican Republic, led by Almonte, held a meeting with Mr. Norbert Gorissen, in charge of Energy and Climate Policy of the Federal Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Germany.

According to a press statement from the Department of Communications of the Ministry of Energy and Mines, the meeting was also attended by the ambassador of the Dominican Republic in Germany, Mr. Francisco Caraballo, Mr. Edward Veras, executive director of the National Energy Commission, Manuel López San Pablo, general manager of the SENI Coordinating Body, as well as Clemens Findeisen and Iván Guzmán from GIZ.

Meanwhile, Gorissen was accompanied by Mrs. Verena Ommer, representative of the International Initiative for Climate Protection of the Federal Ministry of Economy and Climate Protection of Germany, and Heike Muranyi, official of the Office for Central America and the Caribbean of the Federal Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Germany. The meeting in Berlin will last throughout the week, said the Ministry of Energy in its press release issued in the Dominican capital.
The Dominican delegation is made up of the main officials of the energy sector.
