In the last 24 hours Panama reports 125 new cases of Covid-19 and two deaths

The report from the Department of Epidemiology of the Minsa reveals that in Panama, 763,608 confirmed accumulated cases have been reported to date, of which 125 are new cases. For the last 24 hours, two deaths are reported and one from previous dates is updated for an accumulated number of 8,167 deaths and a lethality of 1.1%.

Those recovered amount to 753,027 with 329 new ones recovered from the disease. 3,661 tests were applied for a positivity of 3.4%.

There are 2,414 active cases throughout the country, of which 2,317 are in home isolation and 97 hospitalized. Those in isolation are divided into 2,292 at home and 25 hotels. Those hospitalized are 86 in the Ward and 11 in the ICU.

The Minsa reminds the population that if they present symptoms related to COVID-19, go immediately to a health facility to seek medical care and take a COVID-19 test.

The report of the Expanded Program on Immunization (PAI) details that to date 7,924,619 doses of vaccines against Covid-19 have been applied; 3,444,142 of them in the first dose; 3,029,559 in the second dose and 1,439,498 booster doses.

255,221 first pediatric doses have been applied for a coverage of 49.5% and 98,837 second doses for a coverage of the population between 5 and 11 years of 38.7%.

The coverage of the target population from 5 years of age is 86.8% with the first dose and 76.3% with the second dose and 45.9% with the booster dose.

According to the PAI, from February 26 to March 27 of this year, a total of 68,484 doses against the virus have been applied.
