Vallejo stated this Monday that the authorities have “a call to take care of how we use social networks in this regard, so as not to advance judgments that may end up being prejudices regarding events for which we do not have all the information.”
However, he indicated that “there are wounds that are still open and are not easy to heal, there is a look towards the police that comes from events that have marked us in recent history.”
“The fact, as we said at the time, is serious. We do not want injured, neither civilians nor police. We cannot take away the seriousness of the fact, ”he added.
The shot
Let us remember that on Friday, in the middle of a Confech march, in which they demanded to increase the amount of the Food Scholarship for Higher Education (BAES), a Carabineros official shot after being attacked by a mob of people.
The bullet struck a 19-year-old food delivery man who was initially believed to be a student. The person is out of gravity.
That same day, the spokeswoman Vallejo described the event as “extremely serious” and reported that the Prosecutor’s Office initiated an investigation and that it instructed an internal summary of the Carabineros.
Subsequently, the policeman was released, after it was considered that he acted in legitimate defense.
“After a series of expert opinions, the Prosecutor’s Office determined that the first records would show that the uniformed officer had acted in legitimate defense, which is why he ordered the release of the non-commissioned officer, who was left on notice pending being summoned by the persecuting entity.” said the Public Ministry.
