The biologist with a master’s degree in gender and development, Ricardo Mejía, addressed this Monday on Radio Panama the issue of shared responsibilities in the home and the upbringing of children and sexual diversity.
He stated that in Panama and in other Latin American regions, very strong conservative patterns remain. “The changes can’t be that obvious or that strong,” she said.
This approach does so, since it stated that men are currently seen attending tasks that were previously exclusive to women.
“We have been raised in a way where we divide the labors, mainly within families. Responsibilities should be shared and agreements reached within the home, not putting sex on those responsibilities,” Mejía said.
