The Acosta Danza company, directed by the first dancer Carlos Acosta, will present the show Juventud, at the Cárdenas Theater, in that municipality of Matanzas, on April 1 and 2.
These functions will offer as main attraction the performance of the youngest dancers of the group, informed Lester Vila Pereira, press director of the artistic group.
The public that attends both presentations will be able to enjoy emblematic works by Acosta Danza: Satori, by Raúl Reinoso; Paysage, soudain, la nuit, by Pontus Lidberg, and the duet Nosotros, created by Beatriz García and Raúl Reinoso.
The presentation will end with From end to end, recreation of the original by Alexis Fernández (Maca), a piece that is nominated in the category “Outstanding Achievement in Dance” at the Laurence Olivier Awards 2022, the most prestigious recognition of the performing arts in the United Kingdom.
Since its stage debut, Acosta Danza has defined itself as a space for renewal, search and experimentation for Cuban artists, and also opens doors to the world’s creators, choreographers, musicians, designers, plastic and audiovisual artists.
The company has the objective of performing dance shows in full accordance with the most current notions that are developed in the world and become one of the best letters of introduction of Cuban culture, underlines the Acosta Danza press release.
