Governor Rubén Rocha Moya attended as a guest the first dialogue between women officials and legislators this Friday, an event organized by the Secretariat for Women.
In his message, the state president recognized the work carried out by women on the issues of strengthening and normalizing equality between women and men, inclusion and non-discrimination of women, as well as women’s access to a life free of violence in the state.
Rocha stressed that history is being made with issues that had never been touched upon and that have been brought to the table thanks to women, who now hold positions in public office and in the Legislature. On gender parity, the state president stressed that it is not only having the law, but that it is of great importance to put these issues into practice.
For her part, the President of the Commission for Gender Equality of the Senate of the Republic, Senator Martha Lucía Micher Camarena, recognized Governor Rocha for working hand in hand with the agenda that the deputies have established, and also congratulated all women for the reform of the legal interruption of pregnancy since, he stressed, it is a historic event for the state.
Also present at the event were various officials, federal deputies and local legislators, the President of the DIF Sinaloa System, Eneyda Rocha Ruiz, the President of the Bicameral Commission on National Security and Senator, Imelda Castro Castro, the State Attorney General Sara Bruna Quiñones Estrada and the Head of the Women’s Secretariat, María Teresa Guerra Ochoa.
Also gathered at this meeting mayors as well as the heads of municipal women’s institutes.
