The activity, which ends tomorrow, takes place at the Livestock Fair. The public has been able to see high livestock genetics, the best Dominican agricultural products and state-of-the-art equipment used in the field.
In the activity, which ends tomorrow, Sunday, the public has been able to see from high livestock genetics, to the most recent banana harvested or the grape wine made

At the Agricultural Fair held in the Livestock City of Santo Domingo, the atmosphere has begun to heat up every day from mid-morning, starting on the 18th of this month, when it opened.

As the day “rises” you see people scattered on one side and the other, but as it gets later the number rises and the groups that form can be seen at a stand and others, from the conglomerate there.

The National Agricultural Fair, held every year, has become a space to market and exhibit products, not only from the agricultural sector, but much more varied, including farm implements and machinery. And now it is no different.

It is scheduled to conclude tomorrow, March 27, but before that happens, surely many people will have been able to purchase agricultural and livestock items of various kinds, will have seen the different breeds of cattle that are exhibited, or will have been able to buy jewelry or a pie corn from those that are present at this event, which is already a tradition in the Dominican Republic.

The one now is the thirty-second version of the National Agricultural Fair and is dedicated to Colombia. This was reported at the opening by the president of the National Board of Livestock, Fernando Taveras.

The activity is an opportune space to show advanced technology in the commercial and genetic area, of great utility for national producers.

It is a kind of showcase to see and show the Creole production in a simplified or summarized way. The visitor can observe, touch and in a great way buy, from a plant of some agricultural item to a goat or a sheep. Public entities such as the General Directorate of Livestock, the Agricultural Bank and the Dominican Agrarian Institute (IAD) have been active in the event.

And so active have been the different attractions that have been designed this time, which include rodeos, auctions, grocery sales and artistic activities in general. It is a complement of “things”.

The general director of Livestock, Geovanny Molina, told journalists that when you visit the fair you can have a broad idea about the level of progress that the Dominican Republic has in food production for the population. “If you look at the cattle shown here, you can conclude that we are talking about high genetics. And that goes for dairy cattle as well as beef cattle. That is, for dual-purpose cattle. We have been advancing and this has been possible thanks to the insemination work that the country can carry out, as well as the work through embryos”, he indicated.

For cattle lovers, moving through each of the makeshift barns allows them to learn about breeds of cattle imported from various countries, including the United States, including: Holstein, Brangus, Simmental and Long Horn. They are species that allow us to have an idea of how far it is possible to expand the genetic and productive offer of cattle in the Dominican Republic.

Banco Agrícola informed through its administrator Fernando Durán that it made available to its clients 74 suppliers of equipment and machinery and agricultural supplies. Among them he cited tractors, water extraction pumps, trucks, power plants and cold rooms. They are financed by the government entity at preferential rates of zero and 6%.

“We offer the country’s producers the possibility of having a wide variety of equipment and material options, with loans from the Agricultural Bank, as one more contribution from the Government to national agricultural production. The important thing is to produce more and better”, assured Durán to the journalists who yesterday visited the facilities where the fair takes place. He explained that “provider houses are duly purged by the institution”, and recalled that clients with mortgage guarantee will receive up to 90% of the value of the purchase and those with pledge guarantee, 80%.

One of the main attractions of the fair has been, according to reports, the livestock auction, in which Bagrícola received financing requests for just over RD$3.5 million.

In addition to Livestock and the Agricultural Bank, the current version of the sample has the support of the Ministry of Agriculture, the Dominican Agrarian Institute (IAD), the Special Fund for Agricultural Development (FEDA), the National Council for the Regulation and Promotion of Dairy Industry (Conaleche) and the Presidency of the Republic.
