Coronavirus in Uruguay: 975 new cases, one death and 40 patients in ICU

Uruguay registered this Saturday 975 new cases of coronavirus on a total of 9,824 tests, reported the National Emergency System (Sinae). The positivity rate was 9.9%, although duplicate tests are also included in some people (antigen and PCR).

Also, in the last 24 hours died a 95-year-old woman, who had covid. Since the health emergency was declared on March 13, 2020, there have been 7,150 deaths diagnosed with the disease in Uruguay.

There are 8,597 active cases across the country and 40 people are in intensive care centers, according to the official report. Of the total positive cases, 201 correspond to the health personnel.

Of the 975 new cases, 449 were from Montevideo, 132 from Canelones, 48 ​​from Maldonado, 36 from Lavalleja, 35 from Cerro Largo, 34 from Florida, 31 from Flores, 30 from Treinta y Tres, 29 from Durazno, 29 from San José. , 23 from Rivera, 22 from Colonia, 18 from Salto, 15 from Rocha, 13 from Tacuarembó, 12 from Río Negro, 10 from Paysandú, five from Soriano and four from Artigas.

All departments report infected people this Saturday, and Montevideo leads in number of assets with 4,137. They are followed by Canelones (1,012), Colonia (493) and San José (363), among others.
