“We seek to put together a basic basket of food and cleaning products with careful prices so that they can be distributed in local commercial premises, where the highest rate of inflation and speculation from all over the country”, revealed the Secretary of Domestic Trade, Roberto Feletti.
At a press conference, the official stressed that Within the circuit of local businesses “there is no consistent control and monitoring system” that allows controlling the price of basic products. “This represents a serious problem for the majority of consumers because without the respective price controls, speculation and inflation”, settled.
Along the same lines, Feletti assured that the Care Prices program, which was launched in 2021 to stop the accelerated rise of products in the food basket, “did not have an effective level of compliance within the proximity business sector” due to the lack of control by the state.
New care price program
According to Feletti, the new economic measure will guarantee the fair price of about 60 products of the basic food basket and will help to stop in a “consolidated” way the scourge of the inflation in the country.
“This new strategy was achieved thanks to the concession of the Government and the business and national production sectors,” explained Feletti. Also, he added: “We are also working on the implementation of a careful price program for fruits and vegetables”two items hit hard by the inflation.
