Hoy Paraguay

It was the meeting between the two finalists of the African Cup played a month ago and ended with the title in the hands of Senegal. Now, faced in the last stage of the qualifying phase for the World Cup, they met again. Back and forth. No margin of error.

The first leg was played at the Cairo International Stadium. Egypt won. Although everything is pending for the return match, next Tuesday, March 29 in Diamniadio.

It was Salah who provided the victory for the Portuguese team Carlos Queiroz. Four minutes into the game, a long pass from Amr El Solia into the area was picked up by the Liverpool attacker who shot the crossbar. The ball then hit Saliou Ciss and went into his own goal.

With this act of fortune, Egypt won the match and paved the way to its fourth World Cup participation, the second in a row after Russia 2018.

Sadio Mane also had his chance. He was able to give Senegal an equalizer five minutes into the second half with a header that grazed the left post.

Senegal, which is aiming for its third World Cup, will have a new opportunity in the second leg, on March 29.

The entrance Salah beats Mané and brings Egypt closer to the World Cup was first published in diary TODAY.
