The Ministry of Health made a new balance on the situation of Covid-19 in the country, where it reported 8,247 new cases, of which 4,821 correspond to symptomatic people and 1,405 did not present symptoms. In addition, 2,021 positive PCR tests were recorded that were not reported.
In this way, the total number of people diagnosed with Covid-19 reached 3,434,908 and recovered patients reached 3,345,516 since the arrival of the coronavirus in Chile.
On the other hand, the death of 75 people in the last 24 hours was detailed, thus reaching 56,222 since the start of the pandemic. On the other hand, positivity reached 8.38% nationwide.
As for active cases, these reached 35,824 people and PCR tests amounted to 96,073 in the last 24 hours, thus reaching the total amount of 35,092,861.
Meanwhile, there are 705 people hospitalized for Covid-19 in Intensive Care Units. Of these, 547 are supported by mechanical ventilation. Along the same lines, the hospital capacity has 2,422 critical beds enabled and 342 critical beds available.
Positivity in the Metropolitan Region reached 8.38%%, while the regions with the highest increase in new confirmed cases in the last seven days are O’Higgins, Biobío, Ñuble and Maule.
