Nicaragua of the organism.

“If there were any doubts about the systematic violation of human rights by Ortega —even despite the reports published by the Interdisciplinary Group of Independent Experts (GIEI), the Inter-American Commission on Human Rights (IACHR) and, by the Office of the High Commissioner for Human Rights (OACNUDH) -, we hope that after the complaint by the ambassador, they will finally be buried, “they emphasize.

They reiterated that the Ortega dictatorship continues to choose not to comply with its international commitments, denies its obligations stipulated in the Democratic Charter and the Inter-American Convention on Human Rights, “disobeys the mandates of the Inter-American Court of Human Rights and arbitrarily and defiantly decides to withdraw from the the OAS”.

«We echo the words of Mr. Ambassador McFields when he said in his complaint: “to continue to remain silent and defend the indefensible is impossible”. This is an opportunity for the OAS to reaffirm its leadership in defending democratic values in all its member states, and strengthen its role in demanding compliance with the Inter-American Democratic Charter,” he emphasized.
