In some regions of the country, teachers this Friday abide by the 24-hour strike with blockades and road closures, demanding a greater number of items and more budget for education in the country. Given this, the Government warned that discounts will be made to teachers who do not work.
In Santa Cruz there are blockades, particularly in the municipality of La Guardia, where the double lane that connects with Camiri remains closed, according to a report by Tv Digital La Guardia.
Another of the roads that was closed is the highway that connects Santa Cruz with Tarija, at the intersection of Campo Pajoso. Measure that is accepted by the Yacuiba Urban Magisterium, who demand attention to their demands such as a larger budget, reported La Voz de Yacuiba.
The general secretary of the Urban Teachers of Bolivia, Patricio Molina, said this Friday that the pressure measures are complied with after the general assembly decided to reject the counterproposal of the Ministry of Education, which raised a higher workload in exchange for items.
“We do not have a closed or biased position in requesting a total of 10,000 items, we ask for an effort from the Government, a little more items and a little more budget for those teachers who work with free hours or who are paid for by parents. ”, he stated in contact with Unitel.
For his part, the Deputy Minister of Regular Education, Bartolomé Puma, warned that the Government will apply discounts to teachers who abide by the strike.

“Nowhere in the world are those who do not work paid, a salary that is paid with Bolivian resources. We call on educators to attend their job sources this Friday and not leave aside the restart of face-to-face school work, which has recently been applied throughout the country,” Puma demanded.
The president of the Civic Committee of Roboré, Rubén Darío Arias, stated that the sector joined the teachers’ protest and that they decided to close the Bi-oceanic corridor route.
“The number of vehicles around here is large, we hope that the Government can respond to the demands that the urban teachers have about the historical deficit of items and improve the salaries of the teachers who are in charge of training citizens in the country. ”, indicated the civic representative.
In Oruro and Potosí, closed routes were also reported. While at the Machacamarquita intersection, in the municipality of Huanuni, a road that connects Oruro with Potosí, there is already evidence of a certain number of stopped vehicles, around 500 people who belong to the Oruro Urban Magisterium block several nearby cities such as Llallagua. Carriers look for alternate routes.
The government headquarters, for its part, gathered a large group of protesters from various parts of the country. With different departmental flags, the protesters walked through the center of the city of La Paz.
