During the session of the Permanent Council of the Organization of American States (OAS), the permanent mission of Nicaragua, representing Arturo Mcfields and on behalf of the Daniel Ortega regime, joined the resolution against the war in Ukraine.
«The Permanent Mission of Nicaragua to the Organization of American States OAS salutes the honorable chairman of the Permanent Council of the OAS and has the honor and national duty to join in support of the declaration on the situation in Ukraine, read in the Permanent Council of the last February 25, 2022”, states the document presented by the Nicaraguan ambassador.

He added that “on behalf of the Nicaraguan people and government, we strongly condemn the war, the unjustified aggression, the flagrant violations of human rights, the murder of innocents, and the invasion of a free country. The unprovoked war against the Ukrainian people deserves our strongest and unanimous condemnation.”
The statement was read by the regime’s envoy after he decided to denounce the human rights situation and the political crisis that Nicaragua is going through. “Denouncing the dictatorship of my country is not easy, but to remain silent and defend the indefensible is impossible,” Mcfields said.

The letter adds that “the Permanent Mission of Nicaragua to the Organization of American States requests that this communication be published and disseminated among the member states and on the OAS website and provides the opportunity to reiterate the honorable presidency of the Permanent Council of the OAS, the security of your highest and most distinguished consideration.”
Mcfields was appointed press attaché at the Nicaraguan embassy in the United States in 2011. On November 5, 2021, two days before Ortega’s electoral farce, he presented his credentials as representative of the Central American country to the OAS.
Although it seems that everything is lost, there is still hope. I want to tell you that people inside and outside are tired, tired of the dictatorship and its actions, and more and more people will say enough, because light is stronger than darkness, because love is stronger. that hate, because you can fool people for a while, but not permanently. Because God sometimes takes time, but never, NEVER forgets,” said the diplomat in his complaint to the organization.
