President Jair Bolsonaro and a delegation of ministers participated in a ceremony in Quixadá (CE), this Wednesday afternoon (23), for the launch of the Water Task Force, which provides for the execution of water supply works in the semi-arid region. northeast. The city is located in the central hinterland of Ceará, about 160 kilometers from Fortaleza.
74 simplified supply systems were officially delivered, which will serve 15 municipalities, 90 communities and more than 23,000 inhabitants. Around 1,000 artesian wells have also been opened in the region, which should benefit 58,000 people.
The ceremony is part of the commemorations of the world water daycelebrated this Tuesday (22).
“Water is an unparalleled good. We are increasingly completing the transposition of the São Francisco River and bringing dignity to all of you,” Bolsonaro said in his speech.
The Water Task Force involves different federal institutions, such as the National Health Foundation (FNS), the São Francisco River Valley Development Company (Codevasf), the National Department of Works against Droughts (Dnocs), in addition to the ministries of Citizenship, Regional Development, Health and Defense. The government’s goal is to serve 1.5 million people by drilling wells, implementing cisterns and simplified water supply systems.
Earlier, on another official agenda, this time in Paudalho (PE), the President Jair Bolsonaro participated in the laying of the cornerstone of the Army Sergeants Training and Graduation School. The Armed Forces’ new military school will provide more than 2,400 opportunities for young people who want to pursue a military career. The investment is over R$ 1.5 billion.
