Owners of private fuel emblems will start a protest measure starting this Thursday after being excluded from the Subsidy Law. In addition, they claim the lack of action against smuggling and illicit businesses.
The measure announced by the Association of Owners of Service Stations and Related (SORRY) is that starting this Thursday, March 24, they will be reducing service hours from 2:00 p.m. to 6:00 a.m. the following day for an indefinite period. They indicate that they are also forced to cut the workload of their operators.
“We regret affecting the supply of fuel at service stations, but this measure is force majeure due to the impossibility of meeting operating costs,” the statement said.
They indicate that the decision is due to the fact that they continue to endure “hard variables”, such as inflation, drought, smuggling, corruption at all levels, the effects of the pandemic, the war between Russia and Ukraine that affect all international trade, which they must face with the tools that currently become insufficient.
They also claim that the Law approved in the Senate this Wednesday is “impartial”, since the subsidy will only apply to Petropar, leaving aside private emblems.
“We demand that all efforts be focused on the development of clear public policies and that institutions work more efficiently for all, in order to reach the long-awaited Degree of Investment that we so much need,” they underline.
Likewise, they repudiate the “lack of fairness, unfair competition, the impunity that reigns and the smuggling that kills our industries.”
