The head of the Ministry of the Interior, Alfonso Chavarry, did not want to respond to the allegations of family violence involving another high-ranking government official of which he is a part. And he excused himself by asking journalists to ask him about issues that concern his sector.
Chavarry participated this Wednesday together with the president peter castlethe vice president Dina Boluarte and his Defense pair, Joseph Gavidiaas well as the high command of the Police, in the presentation of drugs seized at the Dirandro headquarters.

The head of state, once again, only arrived for the ceremony, gave a brief speech and then evaded the waiting press with the help of State Security troops.
The motion of censure against the Minister of Health, the presidential vacancy and the decision of the Constitutional Court on former president Alberto Fujimori were some of the issues that Minister Chávarry was asked after accepting questions from the press.
However, when asked about the complaints of family violence against the recently appointed Secretary General of the Palace, Jorge Alva, he did not want to answer.
“I can’t say that because… I belong to the Interior (sector), ask me things about my portfolio,” said Minister Chávarry.
“I do not do the selection regarding this personnel,” he added at the insistence of the journalists, who reminded him that he is part of the Government.
Peru21 revealed that the new secretary general of the Presidential Office was accused of family violence twice by his own wife. The first time was in October 2013 and the second in March 2018. Everything was recorded in police reports.
Dirandro presented 3.7 tons of drugs seized within the period February-March 2022.
According to the Dirandro chief, this corresponds to US$3,828,277 in value within the “production zone”; however, its price in the “destination area” would amount to US$107,977,071.
