After Lacalle’s conference in favor of the “No” repeal of 135 articles of the LUC, the repercussions were immediate.
The coordinator of the caucus of senators of the Broad Front, Liliam Kechichian, questioned that it was a conference where the president “disinformed”.
In this sense, the legislator said that “the shortening of the terms for adoptions is not at stake, and all the parties in Parliament, including the opposition, voted for this.”
“What is at stake is that the fate of the child is left to a judge alone, bypassing the Institute for Children and Adolescents of Uruguay (INAU), which is the specialized institution, with social workers and psychologists, and which carries out all the follow-up. ”, pointed out the legislator.
He added that the president misinformed about financial inclusion, because in the example of the person who lives far from an ATM in the deep interior of the country, that situation “is already contemplated.”
Kechichian lamented that Lacalle forgot to explain what it means that a person can “handle $120,000 in cash, and without any bank traceability,” to know where that money comes from.
He stressed that he did not answer how much the campaign came out, who financed it and if he will be accountable for it.
fuels
The Frente Amplio legislator assured that the LUC “harmed citizens by the 36% increase in the price of fuel and, therefore, of the entire basic food basket, which has been a blow to Uruguayan society.”
For his part, the coordinator of the “Yes” campaign, Esteban Valenti, lamented that the president “in his 26 minutes of the press conference (five times more than the Yes network) did not say a single word about the increase in the fuels. What a pothole!”
