Police officers found the body of a 3-year-old boy, who had been reported missing, inside a cave in a place in the Huasicancha district, Huancayo province, Junín region. As a result of the investigations, the authorities preliminarily detained the minor’s mother and stepfather.
According to local information, the mother reported the disappearance of her son on March 14 and five days later an inhabitant found the lifeless body of the child inside a cave. It was shown that the infant was hidden after allegedly being drowned in a lagoon.
After informing the police of the discovery of the Chongos Alto police stationHuman Trafficking and PNP Huancayo Intelligence personnel moved to the Huiscamachay area, in coordination with the prosecution, for the removal of the body.

Mother and stepfather arrested
Police information obtained by this newspaper explained that Nery Poma Lazaro (27) told the Police that when he went out to take care of his cattle, he left the minor in a hut located on the Moradayo ranch, however, when he returned he could no longer locate it.
According to that version, the minor stayed with his other 8-year-old daughter and, after his disappearance, he unsuccessfully searched for him together with his partner. Luis Felipe Huamanlazo Sandoval (28), a fact that would not have convinced the researchers.
Along these lines, the preliminary detention of both was requested for 72 hours in the Millotingo police complex, in Huancayo. The police indicated that a psychological expertise to those involved, statements will be taken and the version of the girl the minor was with will be corroborated.
