The bodies of the Cubans who died in an accident in Mexico will be repatriated on Friday

The bodies of the three Cubans who died on last March 15 in a traffic accident in the state of Veracruz (Mexico) will be returned to the island next Friday. According to a Migration source consulted by 14ymedio“the procedures are covered and we want the bodies to be delivered to their relatives in Cuba on March 25.”

Last Friday, the Veracruz State Attorney General’s Office handed over to Migration the bodies of Anet Patricia Aguilera Canto and her daughter Anyelina Rodríguez Aguilera, who were in the morgue in the town of Cosamaloapan, the official said. “As far as we know, the relatives of the migrants are already aware of the transfer.”

Anet Patricia, originally from Cienfuegos, was traveling in the company of her 12-year-old daughter Anet Patricia, with the aim of reaching the United States, where she would be reunited with her husband, a client of the woman who was dedicated to placing tabs. “A month ago I asked her out on a date but she told me she was sick.”

According to the contacts of the 36-year-old woman, who on social networks identified herself as Patricia Eye Lashes, at the end of the school year she could have left Cuba together with her daughter. “She lived with her mother, who is already grown up. She imagines the pain of losing them in another country,” detailed this contact.

The Migration source consulted also says that they rule out the deportation of Cubans who are hospitalized. Among them is Ailed Díaz, who underwent surgery for her spinal cord injury. The father of the 25-year-old girl, interviewed by Telemundorequested consular support to prevent them from repatriating and asked to be transferred to the US Another of the injured is Magdiel Fernández.

“He is not going to be deported, we are carrying out the procedures for them to be granted a humanitarian visa. Foreign Relations is working on it,” underlines the same Migration source. Due to the injuries presented by the wounded, for the moment, she mentions, it is not convenient to move them.

Last Friday, the Veracruz State Attorney General’s Office delivered to Migration the bodies of Anet Patricia Aguilera Canto and her daughter Anyelina Rodríguez Aguilera, who were in the morgue of the town of Cosamaloapan

Regarding the accident in Veracruz, it was specified that 25 Cubans were traveling in the truck. “Nine of the injured were admitted to the Cosamaloapan Dr. Víctor Manuel Pitalua González General Hospital, from where six were discharged, who decided to continue on their way, since they were not in custody,” says the Mexican official.

The rest of the injured were treated at the General Hospital of the Zone with Family Medicine Number 35 of Cosamaloapan, attached to the IMSS. “Many took the road feeling good and others try to avoid contact with representatives of the Cuban government, which we respect,” the source also says.

In the state of Chiapas, hundreds of migrants have arrived in San Cristóbal de las Casas in recent days, due to the sudden closure of the immigration regularization offices in the border city of Tapachula as a result of several altercations between foreigners and the authorities.

“It’s very sad because they grab us, detain us and then we’re going to return. I’m no longer asking for refuge because it’s too late, my goal was to take my grandson with his mother to the United States, who has been living there for three years,” he said. to Efe Jacky Chacón.

The 55-year-old Honduran woman traveled from her country with her grandson, crossing Guatemala to Tapachula, Mexico, to request a card for humanitarian reasons that would allow her to travel freely and reach the United States.

However, the procedures were complicated in Tapachula, so he decided last week to travel to San Cristóbal de Las Casas, about 400 kilometers away. In this municipality she was evaluating this Tuesday whether to return to Honduras or if she could still obtain some type of permit for her grandson and for herself.
