Last Friday, the Veracruz State Attorney General’s Office handed over to Migration the bodies of Anet Patricia Aguilera Canto and her daughter Anyelina Rodríguez Aguilera, who were in the morgue in the town of Cosamaloapan, the official said. “As far as we know, the relatives of the migrants are already aware of the transfer.”

In the state of Chiapas, hundreds of migrants have arrived in San Cristóbal de las Casas in recent days, due to the sudden closure of the immigration regularization offices in the border city of Tapachula as a result of several altercations between foreigners and the authorities.
