Army Lieutenant Colonel Iván LI, father of the alleged femicide of Vania Trujillo, was arrested this Friday accused of covering up his son’s escape. He is being investigated by the Prosecutor’s Office for the crime of femicide to the degree of co-authorship for the woman’s death.
The accused arrived at the offices of the Public Ministry in the afternoon and was then transferred to the offices of the Special Force to Fight Crime (Felcc), on Sucre Avenue, where he will give his statements.
“Today the father of the alleged femicide has been arrested, since elements have been found to determine the degree of co-authorship in the crime of femicide,” reported prosecutor Nilda Calle.
Based on data from the investigations, the authority explained that the lieutenant colonel accompanied the main accused of the crime to testify and also helped in his escape.
Investigators suspect he has knowledge of her whereabouts. “Perhaps he is the first who has known the fact,” added the prosecutor.
Another of the data that draws the attention of the Prosecutor’s Office is that the syndicate of the femicide identified as his home the same one that the soldier apprehended this Friday occupies.
The prosecutor also reported that her colleague Dubravka Jordán was removed from the commission investigating the Trujillo femicide.
The decision arises after the controversy over the crossing of accusations between the Police and the Prosecutor’s Office for the escape of Vania’s femicide. Juana Cortez is the prosecutor who will now take this case.

The case
Vania, 37 years old, died on February 18, strangled in her apartment located in the Bajo San Antonio area of the city of La Paz.
The suspect is Vladimir SIV, his 21-year-old concubine, who has an arrest warrant and is presumably out of the country.
According to the medico-legal autopsy carried out by the Forensic Research Institute (IDIF), the cause of death is cerebral anoxia, extrinsic cervical compression and mechanical suffocation due to manual strangulation.
The investigations also determined that the femicide was committed with the intervention of an accomplice: Vladimir’s father, with whom the criminal “set up” the alleged suicide to hide the crime.
